Art is my world

Trevy Fountain

Picture
This was from a photo of the Trevy Fountain from my sister when she visited Italy, as a challenge I decided to paint it. It was probably the turn of my artwork as this was monochromatic human subject, the effort was worth it though and it is now one of my personal favorites.

Trevy Fountain (again)

Picture
This is just an overview of the entire painting. (Please forgive the saturation of these photos as it is distorted based on light and position)

Birds of Flight Series

Picture
This piece and the following pictures are originals of various bird species. I had a relative idea of what the birds looked like and I went from there to create a solid background with the bird as focus in a unique position.

My Bear

Picture
This painting is an original of mine of the family pet. In honor of my dog, Teddy, I took a photo and painted him in the hopes of capturing his cute appearance. Let's just say My Bear currently resides in a prominant location of the house so my mother can proudly show off her dog.

Alaska

Picture
This picture is from a postcard a friend of mine sent me while she was visiting Alaska. Of course she loved it. When her birthday came around I decided to paint the postcard she sent me so she could have Alaska at home, thus this painting was born.

Green Hills and Shamrocks

Picture
This painting was based off of a calendar image* I saw, and since I love Ireland I wanted to tweek the picture and paint it.

*Again, I am not taking credit for the calendar and I give the rights and credit of inspiration to the photographer. This was not out of my head.

Waterloo Bridge

Picture
This painting is a version of Monet's Le Parlement, trouée de soleil dans le brouillard, this was also an earlier work of mine and I toned the chromatics of his original piece.

Garden Art

Picture
I did this painting based on another photograph* from a calendar with slight modification.

*Again, I am not taking credit for the calendar and I give the rights and credit of inspiration to the photographer. This was not out of my head.

Under the Effiel

Picture
This painting of the Effiel Tower was meant to has the perspective of being below it rather than looking at it entirely and straight on. This was based on two photographs I found on google*, I combined the two and created this.

*I am not taking credit for the google images and I give the rights and credit of inspiration to those who took the photographs. This was not out of my head.

My Monet

Picture
This was one of my earlier paintings as a recreation of Monet's Water Lillies. Also, it was my introduction to impressionism.

Rolling Rivers

Picture
While this is not my finest piece (quite possibly my least favorite due to the tree), I did it based on a calendar photo* because of the water and the way it flowed. I thought it was interesting and I actually used metallics in the water to make it seem more reflective and translucent.

*Again, I am not taking credit for the calendar and I give the rights and credit of inspiration to the photographer. This was not out of my head, calendars are just excellent references.

Tulip Petals and Water Drops

Picture
This was a time consuming claendar close-up of a tulips after it rained with one flower in focus with the others out of focus/blurred.

*Yet again, I am not taking credit for the calendar and I give the rights and credit of inspiration to the photographer. This was not out of my head.

Is It A Petal?

Picture
This is what I loosely consider abtract as it is not clear and identfiable as a whole. Still this picture was more inspired by Georgia O'Keefe's style of capturing flowers. I was given this photograph by a teacher and was assigned to grid the photo, select a few squares, and then enlarge it to a painting. I chose a petal and this was the end result.
